This picture is the Rila Monastery. It is an anience monastery that survived and was re-built after a massive fire. It is tucked away in the mountains of Rila Bulgaria, about an hours drive from Blagoevgrad. Monks still worship here at the monastery. There are many living quarters along with a kitchen, bell tower, and exquisitely adorned chapel. This monastery is open to visiters and has a small gift booth. You are free to walk through the monastery at leisure and take in the beautiful scenery of Bulgria and the incredible artwork of the monastery.
